Abstract
Background: Counseling is a process of providing assistance which is carried out in a face-to-face relationship between two people, one because of their expertise in helping the other to be able to overcome the difficulties they face. Research Methods: The type of research used is a quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental with a two group design with pre and post test design, namely the dependent variable is measured before and after being given counseling on brushing teeth technique demonstration method and watching videos on youtube. The sampling technique in this study used a simple random sampling technique, namely the sample was taken at random regardless of the level in the population. The sample consisted of 36 5th grade students at SDN Kepongpongan 2, Talun District, Cirebon Regency. This study uses a measuring instrument in the form of an OHIS examination. Research Results: There was a change where students with OHIS scores before counseling using the demonstration method were bad criteria amounting to 8 people (44%) to 5 people (28%), moderate criteria amounting to 7 people (39%) to 8 people (44%) and good criteria amounted to 3 people (17%) to 5 people (28%). Changes also occurred in students with OHIS scores before counseling using the youtube video playback method was the bad criteria amounted to 9 people (50%) to 3 people (17%), the moderate criteria were 6 people (33%) to 7 people (39%) and good criteria amounted to 3 people (17%) to 8 people (44%). Conclusion: There was a significant change to the good category for students who were given counseling using the video playback method on youtube, this shows that the use of the youtube video playback method is more effective.
