Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP OF MOTIVATION AND ATTITUDE WITH THE DENTALAND MOUTH CLEANLINESS OF CLASS 1 PRINCIPAL STUDENTS IN SMP PLUS PONDOK AMANAH MUHAMMADIAH ISLAMIC BOARDINGS CHOOL TASIKMALAYA CITY Liviyantika E.N ¹.Suharja E.S². Miko H³ ¹Student of the Department of Dental Nursing Poltekkes Ministry of Health Tasikmalaya ² ³Lecturer of the Department of Dental Nursing at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Tasikmalaya Eganelviliviyantika03@gmail.com Background: It is important for us to maintain oral and dental hygiene in our daily life, considering the large number of female students living in Islamic boarding schools. It is supported by the motivation and attitude of students who are indifferent to dental and oral hygiene. Objective: To determine the relationship between motivation and attitude with dental and oral hygiene index for female students in grade 1 at SMP Plus Pondok Pesantren Amanah Muhammadiah, Tasikmalaya City. Methods: The population of female students is 40 while the sample is taken using a total sampling method. Measuring motivation and attitude using a questionnaire and dental and oral hygiene examination using the Hygiene Index. The data analysis technique used the Chi-Square test. Results: The results of the motivation and attitude questionnaires for female students in grade 1 junior high school got the results of the criteria lacking as many as 27 respondents (67.5%), attitudes with the results of the criteria being less than 19 respondents (47.5%). The results of this statistical test using Chi-Square obtained a value (p-value) = 0.000 <0.005. Conclusion: There is a relationship between motivation and attitude w ith dental and oral hygiene of grade 1 female students at SMP Plus Pondok Pesantren Amanah Muhammadiah, Tasikmalaya City.
