Abstract
Latar Belakang: Peningkatan jumlah lansia dengan demensia yang ditandai penurunan daya ingat, konsentrasi, dan kemampuan berpikir menjadi masalah kesehatan yang memerlukan intervensi nonfarmakologis, salah satunya terapi puzzle jigsaw untuk membantu menstimulasi dan mempertahankan fungsi kognitif lansia. Tujuan: Mengimplementasikan permainan puzzle jigsaw pada lansia demensia sedang. Metode: Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini menggunakan desain kualitatif melalui pendekatan studi kasus melalui permainan puzzle jigsaw pada lansia yang mengalami demensia. Intervensi dilakukan selama 5 hari dengan durasi 20 menit setiap sesi. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil: Implementasi selama 5 hari efektif meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif terlihat pada kemampuan mengingat, berbahasa, dan berpikir pada kedua klien, yaitu pada klien I mengalami peningkatan skor dari 11 menjadi 25 dengan waktu penyelesaian puzzle 11 menit, sedangkan klien II meningkat dari 11 menjadi 22 dengan waktu penyelesaian 14 menit. Background: The increasing number of elderly individuals with dementia, characterized by a decline in memory, concentration, and thinking abilities, has become a health issue requiring non-pharmacological interventions, one of which is jigsaw puzzle therapy to help stimulate and maintain cognitive function in the elderly. Objective: To implement jigsaw puzzle games for elderly individuals with moderate dementia. Methods: This scientific paper employs a qualitative design using a case study approach through jigsaw puzzle play with elderly individuals experiencing dementia. The intervention was conducted over 5 days, with each session lasting 20 minutes. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Results: The 5-day intervention effectively improved cognitive abilities, as evidenced by improvements in memory, language, and thinking skills in both clients: Client I showed an increase in score from 11 to 25 with a puzzle completion time of 11 minutes, while Client II improved from 11 to 22 with a completion time of 14 minutes.
