Abstract
Breakfast was an important activity that provided initial energy and supported adolescents’ learning concentration. Based on the preliminary study conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Kota Tasikmalaya, students’ awareness of having breakfast was still low due to limited knowledge, and most students had never received education about the importance of healthy breakfast. The needs analysis conducted on 26 respondents showed that most students preferred digital comic media with human characters, vertical layouts, attractive colors, and the use of short and clear everyday language as the desired educational medium. This study aimed to develop a digital comic about the importance of healthy breakfast as a learning medium for students at SMP Negeri 9 Kota Tasikmalaya. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate); however, the disseminate stage was not conducted due to time limitations. Samples were selected using purposive sampling and quota sampling techniques involving 15 students, consisting of 2 students from grade VII, 6 students from grade VIII, and 6 students from grade IX. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The feasibility test was conducted by 9 experts, consisting of 3 material experts, 3 media experts, and 3 language experts. The average result from the material experts reached 94.17% (very feasible), media experts reached 86.44% (very feasible), and language experts reached 91.11% (very feasible). The media that had passed the expert feasibility test was then tested for user acceptance involving 15 students. The user acceptance test obtained an average score of 91.60%, which was categorized as very feasible.
