Abstract
ABSTRACT Qorry Aina Latifa. Prototype Design of an Animated Video on Dietary Fat for Patients with Hypertension at Kahuripan Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. Under supervision of Marianawati Saragih, STT, M,Gizi Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a steadily increasing prevalence, highlighting the need for effective nutrition education to support disease management. At Kahuripan Public Health Center in Tasikmalaya City, educational materials are primarily delivered through printed media, creating a need for more innovative, engaging, and easily understood alternatives. This study aimed to develop a prototype of an animated video on dietary fat for patients with hypertension at Kahuripan Public Health Center. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D development model, limited to the define, design, and develop stages. The define stage involved assessing the needs of patients with hypertension, while the design stage included the creation of storyboards, educational content, visual elements, audio, and animations using the CapCut application, followed by feasibility validation by three subject-matter experts, three media experts, and three language experts. The develop stage consisted of a small-group trial involving 12 patients with hypertension selected through purposive sampling. The findings revealed that respondents preferred animated video media that were simple, engaging, communicative, concise, and integrated visual, audio, and textual elements. Validation results indicated that the developed media achieved a “highly feasible” rating in terms of content, media, and language aspects. Furthermore, the small-group trial demonstrated very positive responses toward the animated video. Therefore, the animated video prototype on dietary fat for patients with hypertension can be considered a feasible and effective medium for nutrition education at Kahuripan Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City.
