Abstract
A common problem among preschool children is picky eating, which refers to the tendency to be selective about food and can affect nutritional status. One of the contributing factors is the lack of parental knowledge. This study aimed to design a prototype of an educational booklet about picky eating and the nutritional status of preschool children at TK Al-Fattah Manonjaya, Tasikmalaya Regency. The selection of a booklet as an educational medium was based on its ability to present scientific information visually and simply, making it easier for parents to understand and access the information. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), conducted up to the Develop stage. The Define stage was carried out to identify information needs. The Design stage included content preparation, booklet design, and feasibility testing by experts. The Develop stage involved user testing with 12 mothers of preschool children. The study was conducted on May 5, 2026, at TK Al-Fattah Manonjaya, Tasikmalaya. The results showed that the media expert assessment obtained a score of 90.6%, categorized as “very feasible”; the material expert assessment obtained 94.6%, categorized as “very feasible”; the language expert assessment obtained 97.3%, categorized as “very feasible”; and the respondents’ assessment achieved an average score of 96%, also categorized as “very feasible.” Therefore, the booklet media was declared “very feasible” by both experts and respondents.
