Abstract

Nutrition issues among adolescents, including university students, continue to receive attention in Indonesia. According to data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, the prevalence of overnutrition in those over 18 years old reached 14.4%, obesity 23.4%, and undernutrition 7.8%. The nutritional status of adolescent girls can be influenced by body image perception and diet. Adolescent girls who have negative body image perceptions tend to feel dissatisfied with their body shape so they are prone to making changes to their eating patterns. Diet shows eating habits with more or less portions in a group, the state of nutritional status that varies is influenced by a varied diet. Nutritional status is said to be good when a person's diet is balanced both in terms of type, amount, and frequency that a person consumes according to his body's needs. This study aims to describe Body Image, diet, and nutritional status among female students of Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Tasikmalaya from various nutritional status categories. This study used descriptive quantitative design with stratified random sampling technique on 47 respondents. Data were collected through the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) to assess body image, interviews using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) method for dietary patterns, and anthropometric measurements (weight and height) to assess nutritional status. The results showed that the description of body image in female college students obtained 59.4% had a negative body image, while 40.4% had a positive body image. The picture of eating patterns obtained by 56.8% is not good and 53.2% is good. The description of nutritional status obtained results in the category of very thin 8.5%, thin 12.8%, normal 55.3%, fat 10.6% and obese 12.8%.
