Abstract

Media development was the process of designing visual or print tools used to effectively convey information to the target audience. One of the most commonly used educational media was brochures, as they were practical, attractive, and easy to understand. Nutritional issues, particularly low consumption of vegetables and fruits, were still common among students. Adequate consumption of vegetables and fruits played an important role in maintaining health and preventing disease. This study aimed to develop educational media in the form of a brochure on the importance of vegetable and fruit consumption for students, as well as to analyze the feasibility and acceptance of such media. This study used a Research and Development (R\&D) research type with a 3D development design, namely Define, Design, and Development. The research was conducted in May 2025 at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya campus. The population consisted of all students from six departments, totaling 1,265 individuals. A sample of 10 individuals was selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively. Validation was conducted by three experts, with the following results: the content expert categorized it as valid (74%), the media expert as highly valid (90.4%), and the language expert as highly valid (94.2%). The validated product was tested on 10 students from various departments. The initial trial results showed an average score of 91.3%, which fell into the “very good” category, covering aspects of appearance, ease of use, and usability. The vegetable and fruit consumption brochure was recommended to be developed in a digital version to improve accessibility and durability. Educational institutions were also encouraged to utilize this medium as part of health promotion initiatives that supported healthy eating behaviors on campus.
