Abstract
Low fruit and vegetable consumption and physical inactivity among adolescents, coupled with limited knowledge of their importance, increase disease risk such as influenza. As many as 98% of residents over five years old in Tasikmalaya City do not consume enough fruits and vegetables, and 36.43% of those over ten lack sufficient physical activity (Riskesdas, 2018). Knowledge is a key factor affecting these behaviors. Hence, educational media like leaflets are needed to improve adolescents' understanding. This study aimed to describe fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity knowledge among tenth-grade students at SMA Al Muttaqin, Tasikmalaya City, in 2025. Using a one-group pre- and post-test design, 33 students were selected via stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires before and after leaflet distribution. Pre-test results showed 12% had good, 42% moderate, and 45% poor knowledge about fruit and vegetable consumption. For physical activity knowledge, 9% were good, 58% moderate, and 33% poor. After leaflet intervention, post-test results indicated a 73% increase in fruit and vegetable knowledge and a 76% increase in physical activity knowledge. The study concluded that leaflets effectively enhanced adolescents' knowledge on these topics.
