Abstract
ABSTRACT R.K.M. NURMADINAH Description of Carbohydrate and Fat Intake in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Sufferers at the Mangkubumi Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya City in 2025. Under supervision of MARIANAWATI SARAGIH Diabetes mellitus (DM) was a disease that occurred due to abnormalities in insulin secretion and was a non-communicable disease that disrupted body metabolism over a long period, characterized by high blood sugar levels because the insulin hormone produced by the body did not function properly. DM was influenced by several factors, one of which that could be changed was an unbalanced diet. An unbalanced diet due to excessive carbohydrate and fat intake could result in insulin resistance and an increased risk of diabetes mellitus. According to data from Puskesmas Mangkubumi in 2025, it ranked first out of 22 health centers in Tasikmalaya City with the highest number of DM sufferers.This study aimed to determine the profile of carbohydrate and fat intake in type 2 DM patients at Puskesmas Mangkubumi, Tasikmalaya City. This research was descriptive, using an accidental sampling technique. The sample in this study consisted of 64 type 2 DM patients in the Puskesmas Mangkubumi area. Data collection was carried out through direct interviews with respondents regarding respondent data and intake, using a 24-hour Food Recall form to determine carbohydrate and fat intake in the patients.From the research results, it was observed that carbohydrate intake was predominantly in the "less" category, and fat intake was mostly in the "excess" category. Conclusion: Carbohydrate intake in the low intake category was 83%, while fat intake in the high intake category was also 83%. Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, carbohydrate, fat
