Abstract
The negative impact of early marriage on children's physical and psychological well-being has become worldwide issue. Adolescents marry for various reasons, including their perspective on early marriage, which is influenced by their own perceptions which are three aspects: cognitive, affective, and conative. Peers, education, and information regarding reproductive health all impact these perceptions. Because teens feel that only the rest of their group can understand them, teens often have strong interests, commitments, and bonds with their peers. Therefore, educational activities about early marriage are implemented by peer educators. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of peer educators on adolescent girl's perceptions about early marriage at SMP Negeri 21 Tasikmalaya in 2024. This research uses quantitative methods, namely a type of pre-experiment with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The population of this study was all 181 female students at SMP Negeri 21 Tasikmalaya. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a total sample of 40 female students. Research data was processed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The results of this research show that all young women understand, do not support, and have good conative aspects of early marriage after being given education by peer educators. Statistical test results: p value (value) = 0.000 < p 0.05. The conclusion of this research shows that there is an effect of peer educators on adolescent girl's perceptions about early marriage at SMP Negeri 21 Tasikmalaya in 2024.
