Abstract

Teenager is a very vulnerable period for nutritional problems as it coincides with a rapid growth phase (growth spurt) requiring a relatively larger quantity of nutrients. Basic Health Research in 2018 show that the prevalence of nutritional status in Indonesia based on Body Mass Index for age (BMI-for-age) in teenager aged 16-18 years is 8.1% underweight (1.4% severely underweight, 6.7% underweight), and 13.5% overweight (9.5% overweight, 4.0% obese). The aims of this research was determined to depict the macronutrient intake and nutritional status at MAN 1 Tasikmalaya City. This type of research is descriptive with a sample in this study were 30 students. This research was carried out in April 2024. Sampling used the non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through filling out questionnaires, 2x 24 hour food recall interviews and anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The results of anthropometric measurements showed that the nutritional status of students was 17% overnourished, 13% under-nourished. Carbohydrate intake in the weight deficit category was 27%, protein in the weight deficit category was 33%, and fat in the weight deficit category was 30%. These results that are still many students who ignore a balanced nutritional diet, lack a variety of types of food consumed and prefer to consume ready-to-eat food, which causes students' nutritional intake to not be met
