Abstract

From a dietary perspective, adolescence is a critical period. Changes in lifestyle and eating habits, as well as rapid physical growth and development, all have an impact on the nutritional intake required. Based on Riskesdas 2018, 11.2% of teenagers aged 13 - 15 years in Indonesia are obese, 75.3% are normal, and 6.8% are thin when viewed from the prevalence of nutritional status (BMI/U Z-score). Compared to other adolescent age groups, malnutrition is more common in the 13–15 year age range. This research aims to observe the description of the intake of animal protein, iron, calcium, zinc and nutritional status of students at SMPN 9 Tasikmalaya City, using descriptive research methods in April 2024 which was carried out on 30 students as a sample with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. Measurement of body weight and height (anthropometric measurements) as well as 3 x 24 hour food recall interviews were used to obtain data. The research conclusion shows that although 83.3% of respondents have good nutritional status, 100% of respondents experience severe iron deficits, 100% of respondents experience severe calcium deficits, and 96.7% of respondents experience severe zinc deficits. Suggestions need to be conducted by providing outreach, disseminating information, and calling on canteens to provide a variety of balanced nutritious foods to increase female students' food intake.
