Abstract

During adolescence there will be accelerated growth and peak bone growth so that good food intake will be required, which will affect the nutritional quality of adolescents. The prevalence of nutritional problems in adolescents can be caused by inappropriate intake of macronutrients and consumption of snack foods, which also influences their knowledge. The aim of this research was to determine the knowledge, macronutrient intake of snack foods, and nutritional status of adolescents at MTS Persis 7 Cempaka Warna, Tasikmalaya City with a sample of 60 respondents. This type of research is descriptive. Data collection will use anthropometric measurements, knowledge interviews about snack foods with a true-fals statement qustionnaire, and interviews with macronutrient intake for snack food consumption with the 3x24 hour Food Recall Form which will be analyzed using the nutrisurvey software application. his research data analysis is in the form of descriptive analysis using data processing software. The results of this study found that 10 samples (16.7%) had moderate knowledge and the other 50 samples (83.3%) had good knowledge. There were 2 samples (3.3%) who had underweight nutritional status, 41 (68.3%) normal nutritional status, 7 (11.7%) overweight nutritional status, amd 10 (16.7%) had obese nutritional status. Th excess intake of macronutrients from snack foods is 45% energy, 33% protein, 56,7% fat and 36,7% carbohydrates. It is recommended for the school to provide a healthy canteen, educate students about good snacks and monitor their nutritional status.
