Abstract
Pain is a protective mechanism that aims to cause awareness that damage has occurred or will occur. Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure exceeds normal limits with TD 140/90 mmHg and includes non-communicable diseases. Symptoms experienced by people with hypertension tend to be not the same in each individual and sometimes can even cause no symptoms. In general, symptoms of hypertension include headaches and soreness or discomfort at the nape. This case study aims to apply SEFT therapy to reduce pain in hypertensive patients in the work area of the Kersanagara Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. The research method used a descriptive design of nursing care approach with the application of SEFT therapy to reduce pain scale. Nursing care is carried out during 4 days of visits, from assessment to evaluation. The implementation of SEFT to reduce pain levels is carried out according to SOPs by involving patients and families. In conclusion, there was a change in the decrease in the pain scale from a scale of 4 and 5 to a pain scale of 2. The results of case studies of decreasing pain scale with the application of SEFT therapy have benefits for patients, families, public health services, and for educational institutions.
