Abstract
Sedentary lifestyle was a lifestyle characterized by minimal physical activity such as prolonged sitting, excessive gadget use, and lack of movement, which could increase the risk of obesity, metabolic disorders, and decreased productivity. A preliminary study showed that students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya had an average sedentary activity of 90.25 hours/week, which was categorized as high based on the Sedentary Behaviour Questionnaire (SBQ). This condition indicated the need for educational media that were practical and easy to understand. This study aimed to design a pocket book about sedentary lifestyle and assess its feasibility and acceptance as a health education medium. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. Validation was conducted by three experts (material, media, and language experts), while a small-scale trial involved 12 students. The assessment used a Likert scale questionnaire and was analyzed using feasibility percentages. The validation results showed that the feasibility percentage from the material expert was 98%, the media expert was 100%, and the language expert was 98%, all categorized as very valid. The respondent trial results showed an average acceptance percentage of 93.67% with a very good category. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that the pocket book media about sedentary lifestyle for students was very valid, feasible, and could be used as a health education medium.
