Abstract

The use of hazardous chemicals such as borax, formalin, Rhodamine B, and Metanil Yellow in street food is still a food safety issue, so an attractive and easy-to-understand educational media is needed to increase traders' knowledge. This study aims to design a poster media about the use of hazardous chemicals in street food at the Cikijing Traditional Market, Majalengka. This research is a research and development (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, this research is limited to the Development stage. This research was conducted at the Cikijing Traditional Market, Majalengka, the analysis stage was carried out to identify the need for educational media using a purposive sampling technique. The design stage includes the preparation of materials, the visual design of posters using , and validation by material experts, media experts, and language experts using a purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, the development stage was carried out through a trial of poster media to 12 street food vendors using a purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted at the Cikijing Traditional Market in Majalengka. The results showed that the developed poster media obtained a validation percentage of 80% from material experts, 96% from media experts, and 88% from language experts, all of which were included in the very feasible category. The results of the trial on traders obtained a feasibility percentage of 75.5% with a very feasible category. The developed poster media was declared suitable for use as an educational medium regarding the dangers of using hazardous chemicals in street foods.
