Abstract
Hypertension is a condition where the pressure in the arteries exceeds normal limits. Risk factors that affect hypertension include poor daily food consumption habits, and poor lifestyle. A study proves that an increase in high blood pressure is associated with a daily intake of calcium and magnesium consumed from the daily diet that is not within normal limits or deficits. Calcium plays a role in regulating blood pressure which contributes to muscle tightening in the arterial lining and provides a signal to release regulatory substances that have a role in regulating blood pressure, inversely proportional to the function of magnesium, which is its main function in helping the heart muscle relax and has a physiological function in regulating the cardiovascular system. This study aims to look at the picture of calcium and magnesium intake in hypertensive patients at the Sambongpari Health Center, Tasikmalaya City in April 2025. This type of research is descriptive. The population in this study with a total of 66 hypertensive patients, taken through accidental sampling method. using the 24-hour food recall method, and the SQ-FQ method. The results of this study are expected to be the basis of nutrition education and intervention in managing hypertension to prevent more serious complications.
