Abstract
ABSTRACT CINDI NURHASANAH. Description of Nutritional Status and Fast Food to Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Patients in Mangkubumi Health Center Tasikmalaya City. Under supervision of MARIANAWATI SARAGIH Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with hyperglycemia characteristics that occur due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Nutritional status measurement using BMI aims to find out an overview of nutritional status and interviews using SQ-FFQ aim to find out fast food consumption habits in patients with Type 2 DM at the Mangkubumi Health Center, Tasikmalaya City in 2025. This type of research is descriptive. The determination of the research sample was carried out by the acidental sampling method of 64 people. Data collection was carried out through weight, height measurements, and fast food consumption interviews using SQ-FFQ. The results of BMI measurements were obtained as very thin (3%), thin (2%), normal (72%), overweight (2%) and obese (22%). The results of the interview on fast food consumption using SQ-FFQ were obtained as results of infrequent consumption (55%), frequent consumption (45%), consumption in low amounts of energy (59%) and consumption in high amounts of energy (41%). Excess fat that can be determined from nutritional status with a BMI above normal is associated with insulin resistance which is one of the causes of Type 2 DM. Consumption of fast food can increase the risk of type 2 DM because it has a high carbohydrate content that will be released into glucose into the blood as a result, blood sugar levels will increase.
