Abstract
Dyspepsia is a set of phenomena that occur in the upper alimentary canal, including a feeling of fullness, burning sensation, flatulence, loss of appetite, and high frequency of belching. To treat dyspepsia, various types of drugs can be used, such as antacids, proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), H2 blocker receptor antagonists, prokinetics, and cytoprotectives. The goal of the research to identification profile of dyspepsia drug use in dyspepsia patients at Dr. Soekardjo Hospital in Tasikmalaya City in 2024. This research applies a quantitative descriptive approach using data collection technique in a retrospective manner. Samples were taken by non-probability sampling, which applied the purposive sampling method. The data serve came of outpatient prescriptions diagnosed with dyspepsia, and the data be treated make use of the Microsoft Excel application. The research of this study obtained patient characteristics based on gender: female with a frequency of 103 patients (67.32%), and the characteristics of patients who experienced the most dyspepsia based on age were the first elderly category (46-55 years) by a frequency of 38 patients (24.84%). The most common drug class used to treat dyspepsia was proton pump inhibitor (PPI), which was used 134 times (52.34%). For the type of therapy, the single drug that was always prescribed was lansoprazole, with a total of 28 prescriptions (18.30%), while the most common combination therapy was the combination of lansoprazole and domperidone, which reached 31 prescriptions (20.26%).
