Abstract
ABSTRACT SALMA HUSNA RABBANY. Overview of Fat and Fiber Intake in Outpatient with Coronary Heart Disease at Jasa Kartini Hospital in 2024. Under Supervision of DINA SETIAWATI The prevalence of CHD in Indonesia according to Riskesdas (2018) reached 1.5% while in West Java the prevalence of CHD reached 1.6%. Based on the Tasikmalaya City Health Profile (2018), heart disease ranks third out of seven NCDs. Excessive use of fat can cause cholesterol buildup on the walls of blood vessels. If total cholesterol levels in the blood exceed normal limits, the risk of CHD increases. Epidemiological studies examining fiber as a whole state that there is an association between fiber intake and total cholesterol levels due to the mechanism of fiber having blood cholesterol-lowering properties. This study was conducted to determine the intake of fat and fiber in outpatient CHD patients at Jasa Kartini Hospital, Tasikmalaya City. This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study were outpatient CHD patients at Jasa Kartini Hospital in Tasikmalaya City with a sample of 30 people. Sampling was done by consecutive sampling method. Data collection using primary data obtained by interviewing food recall 2 x 24 hours, food frequency questioner, and secondary data obtained from medical records. Most respondents were male 60% and included in the age group 45-64 years 50%. Based on the level of education, most of the respondents studied up to elementary school / equivalent 40%, and most respondents did not work 33.3%. Based on fat and fiber intake most respondents had good fat intake 56.7%, less fat intake 36.7%, and more fat intake 6.6% while less fiber intake 29% and good fiber intake 3.3%.
