Abstract
The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to reduce secretions in asthma patients and improve family abilities in ineffective asthma management. the incidence of asthma is increasing, asthma disease affects about 300 million people worldwide. Asthma affects more than 5% of the world's population, and several indicators have shown that its prevalence continues to increase. Asthma is a disorder in the form of chronic inflammation (inflammation) of the airways that causes hyperreactivity to various stimuli characterized by recurrent episodic symptoms in the form of wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath and heaviness in the chest especially at night or early in the morning which is generally reversible either with or without treatment. Thus, an intervention is needed to provide eucalyptus vapor inhalation techniques to reduce secretions that cause shortness of breath in asthma patients. The type of design of this scientific paper is descriptive with a case study report, the research process was carried out for 9 days, starting on April 06, 2023 to April 15, 2023. The case study results of this scientific paper show that there is an increase in family ability in ineffective asthma management by applying eucalyptus vapor inhalation techniques to asthma patients and the secretions in asthma patients become liquid and easy to remove. The conclusion of this scientific paper is that the eucalyptus vapor inhalation technique has an effect on asthma in diluting secretions and the family's ability to manage ineffective asthma also increases. It is expected that the family will be able to maintain and continue the previously implemented actions regarding eucalyptus vapor inhalation techniques so that secretions do not interfere with daily life and are easily removed.
