Abstract
Hypertension is a condition that continues to rise each year, as evidenced by the surge in cases in Tasikmalaya Regency—from 119.466 cases in 2023 to 674.845 cases in 2024. This increase highlights the need for more effective hypertension management, particularly through improved patient adherence to antihypertensive medication as an indicator of successful blood pressure control. This study aims to determine the level of adherence to antihypertensive medication among Prolanis patients at the Ciawi Community Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas) in Tasikmalaya Regency in 2025. The research method employed a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection via the questionnaire administered to Prolanis patients. The study sample consisted of 80 respondents selected using purposive sampling, with criteria including active participation in Prolanis activities and having received treatment for at least three months. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage, as well as analysis of variance based on gender, age, education, and occupation. The results of the study show that the majority of respondents had moderate compliance (60 respondents, or 75%), high compliance (12 respondents, or 15%), and low compliance (8 respondents, or 10%). High compliance was more common among women (16.7%), pre-elderly individuals aged 45–59 years (18.4%), those with a high school education (28.0%), and homemakers (16.4%). High compliance was influenced by health awareness, understanding of therapy, and the availability of time for routine check-ups. The study’s conclusion indicates that the level of adherence among pre-elderly patients at the UPTD Puskesmas Ciawi in Tasikmalaya Regency in 2025 was largely in the moderate category therefore, improved education, support, and routine monitoring by healthcare workers are needed to enhance patient adherence to antihypertensive therapy.
