Abstract
INTISARI Latar Belakang: Air Susu Ibu (ASI) eksklusif merupakan makanan terbaik bagi bayi sejak lahir hingga usia 6 bulan. Cakupan ASI eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pasawahan mengalami penurunan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Salah satu faktor yang diduga berhubungan dengan keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif adalah tingkat pengetahuan ibu mengenai ASI eksklusif. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki bayi usia 6–7 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pasawahan Kabupaten Kuningan sebanyak 43 orang. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah total sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan ASI eksklusif yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas (Cronbach's Alpha = 0,966). Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Fisher's Exact Test dengan tingkat signifikansi α = 0,05. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik tentang ASI eksklusif (72,1%), dan 67,4% berhasil memberikan ASI eksklusif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ibu dengan pengetahuan baik lebih banyak berhasil memberikan ASI eksklusif. Uji Fisher's Exact Test memperoleh nilai p-value sebesar 0,009 (p < 0,05), yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan ibu dan keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan ibu tentang ASI eksklusif dengan keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif pada ibu bayi usia 6 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pasawahan Kabupaten Kuningan. ABSTRACT Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is the optimal source of nutrition for infants during the first six months of life. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Pasawahan Public Health Center has declined in recent years. One factor that may influence the success of exclusive breastfeeding is mothers’ knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: This quantitative analytical observational study used a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all mothers with infants aged 6–7 months in the working area of Pasawahan Public Health Center, totaling 43 respondents. Total sampling was applied, involving all members of the population. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire on exclusive breastfeeding knowledge (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.966). Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analyses, and Fisher’s Exact Test was used with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: Most respondents had a good level of knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding (72.1%), and 67.4% successfully practiced exclusive breastfeeding. Among mothers with good knowledge, 58.1% successfully provided exclusive breastfeeding. Fisher’s Exact Test showed a p-value of 0.009 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant relationship between mothers’ knowledge and the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between mothers’ knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and the success of exclusive breastfeeding among mothers of six-month-old infants in the working area of Pasawahan Public Health Center, Kuningan Regency.
