Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women remains a major health problem that can increase the risk of pregnancy complications, preterm birth, and low birth weight. One of the efforts to prevent anemia is the administration of Multi-Micronutrient Supplement (MMS). However, pregnant women’s adherence to consuming MMS remains low, partly due to inadequate health education. This study aimed to determine the effect of education about Multi-Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) on pregnant women’s adherence in consuming MMS at Maleber Public Health Center in 2026. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 42 pregnant women selected using an accidental sampling technique. Education was delivered using video media about MMS. Adherence was measured based on MMS consumption records in the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook for 14 days before and 14 days after the educational intervention. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that the mean adherence of pregnant women before receiving education was 6.95 days and increased to 11.90 days after the educational intervention. The Paired Sample T-Test result showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that there was a significant effect of MMS education on pregnant women’s adherence in consuming MMS at Maleber Public Health Center in 2026. Keywords: health education, adherence, pregnant women, Multi-Micronutrient Supplement (MMS).
