Abstract
ABSTRACT Back pain is one of the common complaints experienced by third-trimester pregnant women due to physiological and biomechanical changes during pregnancy. This condition may cause discomfort and interfere with daily activities. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce back pain is endorphin massage. Endorphin massage stimulates the release of endorphins, which function as natural analgesics and help reduce pain perception. This study aimed to determine the effect of endorphin massage on back pain scores among third-trimester pregnant women at TPMB Bidan H, Bandung City, in 2026. This study employed a Pre-Experimental design using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach. The population consisted of 33 third-trimester pregnant women experiencing back pain. The sampling technique used was total sampling, and 18 respondents met the inclusion criteria. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using the Paired T-Test. The results showed that the mean pain score before the intervention was 2.78 and decreased to 1.33 after endorphin massage. The Paired T-Test analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of endorphin massage on reducing back pain scores among third-trimester pregnant women. Keywords: Endorphin Massage, Back Pain, Thrid Trimester Pregnant Women, NRS.
