Abstract

Labor pain increases in the active phase of stage I, requiring non-pharmacological management. Counter pressure is a technique that can reduce pain by applying pressure to the sacrum area. Objective: To determine the effect of counter pressure on reducing labor pain scale in stage I active phase. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental__ study with a __one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 33 women in labor stage I active phase at Wanasari Public Health Center, Bekasi Regency in 2026, selected using __purposive sampling_. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value < 0.001, indicating a significant difference in pain scale before and after counter pressure application. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of counter pressure on reducing labor pain in stage I active phase.
