Abstract
The distribution coverage of Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) tablets in Tasikmalayaa City in 2023 reached 24,8%, yet female adolescent girls who consumed them as recommended only accounted rate was caused by a lack of knowledge and misconceptions regarding in health promotion media using audiovisual media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on consuming iron supplement tablets using audiovisual media on the percepstion of seventh grade female adolescent with the Health Belief Model approach at MTs Bahrul Ulum, Tasikmalaya City. This quantitative stude use an experimental method with a pre-experimental design (one group pre-test-posttest design). Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling techniwue with a total sample of 65 seventh-grade female students. Data collection was perfomed using a percepstion questionnaire based on the six components of the Health Belief Model. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results of this study indicated that there was a significant effect after providing education using audiovisual media on perceived susceptibility p-valued = 0.000, perceived severity p-value = 0.000, perceived benefit p-value = 0.000, perceived barrier p-value = 0.000, cues to action p-value 0.000, and self efficacy p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05). in conclusion, education using audiovisual media is effective in improving and shaping appropriate perceptions among female adolescent regarding the importance of continuous IFA tablet comsumption
