Abstract
Anemia is one of the nutritional problems frequently experienced by adolescent girls in Indonesia, particularly due to high iron requirements during puberty, poor dietary habits, and a lack of knowledge among adolescent girls regarding anemia. At SMPN 17 in Tasikmalaya City, for instance, preliminary findings revealed that no engaging and effective educational materials currently exist for adolescents, highlighting the need to design appropriate and appealing educational media to enhance knowledge about anemia. This study aims to design educational media in the form of a digital comic about anemia for adolescent girls at SMPN 17 in Tasikmalaya City. The method used is Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) model. The primary focus of this study lies in the process of designing and developing digital comic-based educational media. The media feasibility test was conducted by one media expert, one subject matter expert, and one language expert, along with a limited acceptance test involving 12 female adolescents from grades VII, VIII, and IX selected via purposive sampling. This study was conducted in April-May 2026 at SMPN 17 in Tasikmalaya City. The feasibility test results from the media expert, content expert, and language expert showed that the media expert rated the material at 100%, the content expert at 100%, and the language expert at 96%, with each falling into the “Highly Feasible” category. The results of the acceptance test conducted among 12 adolescent girls showed that the digital comic was rated “Highly Acceptable” by 93.54% of the respondents. Thus, this digital comic is suitable for use as an educational tool on anemia in adolescent girls. Keywords: Anemia, Education, Digital Comics, Media Design, Adolescent Girls
