Abstract
ABSTRACT ANASTASIA DWI ASTUTI. Design of a Prototype Animation Video about Obesity for Hypertension Patients at Kahuripan Community Health Center in Tasikmalaya City Under Suvervision of MARIANAWATI SARAGIH Hypertension is a noncommunicable disease known as a “silent killer” because it often occurs without symptoms and can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. One risk factor for hypertension is obesity, which is influenced by an unhealthy diet and a lack of physical activity. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that the prevalence of hypertension and obesity continues to rise each year. In Indonesia, cases of hypertension are also on the rise, including in the city of Tasikmalaya, which has a relatively high number of hypertension patients, particularly in the service area of the Kahuripan Community Health Center. The educational materials previously used were predominantly leaflets, which were deemed unengaging and difficult to understand due to excessive text. This study aims to design a digital animated video prototype on obesity in hypertension patients as a more engaging and easily understandable educational tool. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), though the study only reached the Develop stage. Data collection was conducted through interviews, respondent needs surveys, expert validation, and user testing among hypertensive patients in the service area of the Kahuripan Community Health Center in Tasikmalaya City. The results showed that respondents needed educational media in the form of animated videos with a simple yet engaging design, using easy-to-understand language, clear narration, and a short duration. Validation results indicated that the animated video prototype received a “highly suitable” rating based on expert assessment and a “very good” rating based on the results of the respondent trial.
