Abstract
ABSTRACK NAZWA NURUL ALAIDA Design of a Digital Pop-up Book Prototype on Sodium for Patients with Hypertension at the Kahuripan Community Health Center. Under supervision of Marianawati Saragih, STT, M,Gizi Hypertension is a growing health problem and one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease. One of the factors associated with hypertension is excessive sodium intake in daily dietary patterns. Nutrition education at Kahuripan Public Health Center still uses simple printed media, which is considered less attractive and not optimal in improving patients’ understanding. Therefore, a more interactive and understandable educational medium is needed, one of which is a digital pop up book. This study aimed to design a digital pop-up book prototype about sodium for hypertensive patients at Kahuripan Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 3D model consisting of Define, Design, and Develop stages. The define stage involved identifying the need for educational media and analyzing materials related to sodium intake in hypertensive patients. The design stage included preparing educational materials, designing visual displays, and developing validation instruments. The develop stage consisted of validation by material experts, media experts, and language experts, followed by a limited trial involving hypertensive patients. Data were analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale to determine the feasibility of the media. The results showed that the digital pop-up book prototype had an attractive visual appearance, appropriate educational content, and understandable language for respondents. The developed media was considered feasible to be used as a nutrition education medium for hypertensive patients. This prototype is expected to become an innovative educational medium that can help improve public knowledge regarding sodium intake management in controlling hypertension.
