Abstract
Nutritional problems commonly experienced by adolescent girls in Indonesia include anemia, including at MTs Cikajang, Garut Regency. This vulnerability arises due to the increased need for iron during rapid growth, blood loss every month since the menarche phase, the habit of reducing food portions to maintain appearance, and low awareness of consuming Iron Supplement Tablets (IST), so educational media are needed to deliver information related to anemia. This study aimed to develop animated video-based educational media for preventing anemia among adolescent girls at MTs Cikajang, Garut Regency. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method through three stages. The first stage was Define, namely conducting an initial analysis to identify existing problems as a continuation of the preliminary study, with samples consisting of the principal, teachers, and female students through purposive sampling techniques. The second stage was Design. At this stage, the media was designed based on the findings and determinations from the previous stage, then tested for feasibility by material experts, language experts, and media experts using purposive sampling. The third stage was Development. At this stage, a limited trial was conducted on adolescent girls, with samples consisting of twelve female students using purposive-judgment sampling. This research was conducted at MTs Cikajang from April to May 2026. The feasibility test results showed percentages of 100% from material experts, 97% from media experts, and 95% from language experts, which were categorized as highly feasible. The user trial results obtained a score of 93%, also categorized as highly feasible. Therefore, this animated video-based nutrition education media is highly feasible to be used as an educational and learning medium.
