Abstract
Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan kondisi kronis yang ditandai dengan kadar gula (glukosa) dalam darah yang tinggi. Berdasarkan data laporan dari Dinas Kesehatan Kota Tasikmalaya tahun 2023 mencatat sebanyak 11.782 penduduk di wilayah ini menderita Diabetes Melitus. Poltekkes Kemenkes Tasikmalaya merupakan salah satu institusi yang rutin melaksanakan pemeriksaan glukosa darah. Poltekkes Tasikmalaya sebagai institusi kesehatan yang memiliki SUP Diabetes Melitus menjadi lokasi untuk melakukan penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang prototipe komik digital yang memuat informasi pencegahan Diabetes Melitus sebagai media edukasi. Komik digital memadukan ilustrasi, tipografi, storytelling, dan storyboard sehingga pesan tidak hanya tersampaikan secara informatif, tetapi juga lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), tetapi penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap develop. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validasi ahli materi menghasilkan skor 90,3% (sangat valid), validasi ahli media menghasilkan skor 88,4% (sangat valid), validasi bahasa menghasilkan skor 93,6% (sangat valid) dan uji coba terhadap 12 responden menghasilkan skor 86,7% (sangat layak). Kata Kunci: Diabetes melitus tipe 2, komik digital, pencegahan, media edukasi. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels. According to data from the Tasikmalaya City Health Office in 2023, 11,782 residents in this region suffer from Diabetes Mellitus. The Tasikmalaya Ministry of Health Polytechnic is one of the institutions that routinely conducts blood glucose tests. Poltekkes Tasikmalaya, as a health institution with a Diabetes Mellitus Unit (SUP DM), serves as the location for this research. The study aims to design a digital comic prototype containing information on Diabetes Mellitus prevention as an educational medium. The digital comic combines illustrations, typography, storytelling, and storyboards so that the message is not only informative but also more engaging and easier to understand. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) based on the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate); however, this study only reached the development stage. Content expert validation yielded a score of 90.3% (highly valid), media expert validation yielded a score of 88.4% (highly valid), language validation yielded a score of 93.6% (highly valid), and a pilot test with 12 respondents yielded a score of 86.7% (highly feasible). Thus, this digital comic is considered suitable for use as an educational medium for the prevention of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and can be utilized as a tool to improve health knowledge.
