Abstract
The low level of knowledge and planning for postpartum contraceptive use remains a major challenge in implementing the Family Planning (FP) program, as this condition can contribute to an increase in unintended pregnancies. Efforts to address this issue need to be carried out through innovative, interactive, and easily accessible educational approaches. One potential alternative is application based FP education, which is expected to improve pregnant women’s understanding and awareness of the importance of postpartum contraceptive planning. This study aimed to analyze the effect of application based FP education on knowledge and planned postpartum contraceptive use among third trimester pregnant women in the working area of Jatisawit Public Health Center, Indramayu Regency, in 2025. The research employed a quantitative approach with a pre experimental design using a one group pretest posttest method. The sample consisted of 37 respondents selected through a total sampling technique. Research instruments included the ABPK ber KB and Si KB Pintar applications, a knowledge questionnaire, and a postpartum contraceptive planning sheet. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-test and the McNemar test. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge scores, from a mean of 45.68 to 75.14 (p = 0,000), as well as an increase in postpartum contraceptive planning from 10.8% to 100% after the intervention. Therefore, application based FP education proven effective in improving knowledge and planned postpartum contraceptive use among third trimester pregnant women. Keywords: family planning education, application, knowledge, contraceptive planning, postpartum contraception, third trimester pregnant women
