Abstract
Factors Affecting Sexual Behavior Adolescent Girls of Langen Islamic Junior High School Banjar City, West Java Year 2024 Mela Nur Azizah Tasikmalaya Health Polytechnic Bachelor of Applied Midwifery Email: melanurazizah11@gmail.com ABSTRACT Adolescence is a period of rapid change in physical, psychological, emotional, and cognitive development, during which adolescents become more interested in sexual behaviour.1 Risky sexual behaviour is a major public health challenge among adolescents because it has the potential to damage sexual and reproductive health later in life.1 From global, national, provincial, Banjar City data, and a preliminary survey at Islam Langen Junior High School showed that middle-aged adolescents (grades VIII & IX) had engaged in several sexual behaviours with boyfriends. The general aim of the study was to identify factors that influence the sexual behaviour of adolescent girls at Islam Langen Junior High School in Banjar City, West Java. Descriptive correlational research method with cross sectional approach and univariate and bivariate Chi Square analysis test. The sampling technique was Proportionate Systemic Random Sampling. This study was conducted on 60 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The results of the study, most respondents (55%) were ≥15 years old, most respondents (66.7%) had sufficient reproductive health knowledge, most respondents (65%) felt that the role of their parents was lacking, most respondents (60%) felt that peers had a negative role, most respondents (63.3%) felt that social media had a positive role and most respondents (51.7%) had risky adolescent sexual behaviour The results of bivariate statistical tests showed the age variable (p-value 0.611; C 0.164; OR 2.634), reproductive health knowledge (p-value 0.034; C 0.541; OR 12.02 and 6.18), parental role (p-value 0.008; C 0.779; OR 7.184), peer role (p-value 0.009; C 0.529; OR 4.000), and social media role (p-value 0.004; C 0.258; OR 4.133). Conclusion: There is no influence of age with a weak relationship, the influence of reproductive health knowledge with a strong relationship, the influence of parental roles with a strong relationship, the influence of peer roles with a strong relationship, and the influence of social media roles with a weak relationship on the sexual behaviour of adolescent girls at Langen Islamic Junior High School in Banjar City, West Java in 2024.
