Abstract
Introduction: In order to realize a quality family, the main target is Couples of Childbearing Age (PUS). The increase in the welfare of quality small families is marked by the use of rational, effective and efficient contraceptive methods, namely the Long-Term Contraceptive Method (MKJP). Providing information and education related to Long-Term Contraceptive Methods through audio visuals to increase couples of childbearing age in choosing contraceptives. The data on active IUD birth control participants from the Purbaratu Health Center in 2024 until June is 3,373 people. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of health education with the use of AKDR audio-visual media on the selection of Intra Uterine Device (IUD) contraception in couples of childbearing age at the UPTD Purbaratu Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design and used a one-group pretest and posttest design with a total of 97 respondents and a purposive sampling technique. Bivariate analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon Test with a significance level (α = 0.05). Results: The selection of IUD contraception in couples of childbearing age before being given health education using AKDR audio-visual media most of them did not choose IUD contraception (80.4%) and experienced changes after being given AKDR audio-visual media, most of whom chose IUD contraception (64.9%). The Wilcoxon Test showed that there was an effect of health education with the use of AKDR audio-visual media on the selection of Intra Uterine Device (IUD) contraception in couples of childbearing age (p=0.000). Conclusion: There is an effect of health education with the use of AKDR audio-visual media on the selection of IUD contraceptives in couples of childbearing age at the UPTD Purbaratu Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. Suggestions for health service places are expected to add media such as audio-visual media in providing information. Key words: Audio Visual Education, MKJP, IUD contraceptive selection
