Abstract
Every year around 40% of pregnant women around the world experience anemia, mainly caused by iron deficiency. Data on the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia in 2023 according to SKI is 27.7%. At the Cigeureung Community Health Center, there will be 217 anemia sufferers in 2022 and 179 in 2023. Many factors can cause anemia in pregnant women. One of the factors that influences the incidence of anemia includes knowledge. Knowledge will form a good mindset where it will be easier for mothers to accept information. The aim of the research is to determine the description of pregnant women's knowledge regarding anemia in pregnancy and its therapy at the Cigeureung Community Health Center, Tasikmalaya city. Anemia is a condition where the number and size of red blood cells are below normal limits. Anemia is at risk of causing LBW in the fetus. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional method. Sampling using purposive sampling obtained 65 respondents. Data collection uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results of pregnant women's knowledge of anemia based on good age characteristics <20 years (100%), good gestational age characteristics in the 3rd trimester (96.6%), good educational characteristics from high school (94.7%) and job characteristics of housewives (92 .3%). That the level of knowledge of pregnant women about anemia and its therapy at the Cigeureung Community Health Center is dominated by good knowledge as many as 60 people (92%).
