Abstract

ABSTRACT SALMA AULIA TAZKIATI. Description Of Breakfast Habits, Snack, and Nutritional Status Among Primary School Children at SDN 2 Sindangrasa Ciamis District, Ciamis District. Under supervision of IRMA NURAENI Breakfast is an activity carried out before doing other activities. For school children, breakfast is a source of energy for learning activities. Based on preliminary studies at SDN 2 Sindangrasa Ciamis, it was known that the nutritional status based on BMI/A was very thin nutrition at 4% and obesity at 18%. This research aims to determine the breakfast habits, snacks, and nutritional status of elementary school children at SDN 2 Sindangrasa Ciamis. This type of research was descriptive research. The population of this study was all students, with a sample size of 34 students. Sampling used simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out through filling out questionnaires, 3 x 24-hours recall interviews, FFQ, and anthropometric measurements. The data was analyzed descriptively. Most of the respondents' breakfast habits fall into the always-breakfast category. The number of breakfasts that respondents consumed was partly in the poor category, namely 12 people (35.29%), and partly in the good category, namely 22 people (64.70%). The type of food that respondents consume was that most respondents consume staple foods and animal side dishes. Most of the respondents' snack habits were in the good category, and 2.94% in the bad category. The most common types of snacks were snacks, fruit, drinks, and side dishes. Nutritional status based on BMI/A showed that there were 3 respondents with poor nutritional status (8.82%), 27 people with good nutrition (79.41%), 1 person with overnutrition (2.94%), and 3 people with obesity. (8.82%). Students are advised to pay attention to the amount and type of food consumed daily and get used to eating breakfast. Schools are advised to create balanced nutrition education programs, encourage healthy breakfast activities, and monitor nutritional status.
