Abstract
Background: dental caries is a disease of the hard tissue of the teeth characterized by tissue damage, starting from the surface of the tooth then expanding towards the pulp. Dental caries can arise on one or more surfaces. It is estimated that 90% of primary school-age children worldwide have suffered from dental caries. Children who have dental caries will experience sciatica in the hole, which will result in a decrease in food consumption in children. Decreasing food consumption carried out in the long term will have an impact on the nutritional status of the less. Objective: this study aims to determine the description of dental caries experience and nutritional status in grade 1 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ciledug. Method: the type of research used is descriptive research with survey methods. The population in this study was all grade 1 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ciledug which amounted to 47 people using total sampling techniques. Research measuring instruments use DMF-T / def-t index with the help of diagnostic oral tools, and BMI / U index using digital body scales and height measurements. Results: most respondents had experience of caries of deciduous teeth with a very high category of 34 respondents (72.34%) while the experience of permanent dental caries most respondents belonged to the very low category of 36 respondents (76.59%) and most had nutritionalstatus with a good nutritional category (normal) of 41 respondents (87.23%). Conclusion:most respondents had experience of deciduous dental caries (def-t) with a very high category and experience of permanent dental caries (DMF-T) with a very low category, and had nutritional status with a good nutritional category (normal).
