Abstract
The use of antibiotics requires appropriate clinical considerations for the sake of standardized treatment so as to ensure safety, accuracy, and effectiveness. Improper use will cause resistance problems that have an impact on patient morbidity and mortality. Bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics will prolong the duration of treatment so that the cost of treatment will be higher. This study aims to determine the prevalence of buying antibiotics without a doctor's prescription at Apotek X. This research is a type of descriptive research with qualitative data. Data was collected by observation and open-ended interviews equipped with interview guidelines and a voice recorder. With the criteria of a sample of consumers who buy antibiotics without a doctor's prescription at Apotek X. The study results indicate that the factors that influence the purchase of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription reduce costs, treatment experience as well as recommendations and information from health workers.
