Abstract

Self-medication is a term for self-medication which is the use and selection drugs, including herbal and traditional medicine, by individuals to treat themselves from illness or symptoms disease. Knowledge self-medication drugs in community in general often results in errors both in drug selection and good drug use. This is what attracted the author to examine the description knowledge self-medication influenza drugs community Kalibaru Village, Tengahtani District, Cirebon Regency to find out description knowledge on self-medication influenza drugs. Research is descriptive quantitative instrument questionnaire with Consecutive Sampling technique, which is where all the observed subjects meet the selection criteria are included in the study until the required number subjects is met. Data analysis that will be carried out in this study is univariate analysis which is used to analyze the variables of the research results. The results study indicate that the characteristics respondents in Kalibaru village based on sex are male 40.0%, female 60.0%, age 46-60 years at most 47.0%, education mostly SD 42.0% . Public knowledge about influenza disease results in good category 58.0%, sufficient 30.0%, less than 12% and public knowledge about the use of influenza medicine self-medication results in good category 86.0%, sufficient 4.0%, less than 10 %.
