Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs when blood sugar levels rise because the body does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot use insulin effectively. Based on data from the Tasikmalaya City Health Office in 2022, Diabetes Mellitus is the 10th most common non-communicable disease in Tasikmalaya City at 77.91% with a total of 7,385 patients. Tamansari Health Center ranks 3rd with a low treatment achievement of 41% with a total of 239 patients. The increase in the prevalence of diabetes mellitus patients every year is influenced by the wrong diet and lack of physical activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of physical activity and diet in patients with type 2 DM at the Tamansari Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. The type of research used is descriptive analytic research. The population in this study were patients with type 2 DM at the Tamansari Health Center in Tasikmalaya City with a sample of 78 people. Sampling used in this study was non-random sampling method with the sampling technique used was Consecutive sampling. Based on the results showed that most respondents had moderate physical activity with 50% of male respondents and 70.3% of female respondents. The accuracy of the amount in the diet of type 2 DM sufferers is in the category of severe deficits with 76.3% energy, 76.3% protein, 87.5% fat, and 72.5% carbohydrates. The accuracy of the meal schedule is in accordance with the number of 60% right to eat the main meal 3x / day and 58.8% are right 2-3x / day eating interludes. The most data shows that 75% of respondents are correct in choosing the type of food recommended for patients with type 2 DM. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2 DM, Physical Activity, Diet.
