Abstract
DEA GINAYA SYAHARANI RAHMAN Description of Food Security, Parenting Patterns, Nutrient Intake of Stunted Toddlers in Sukamentri Village, Garut District, Garut City. Under Supervision of IRMA NURAENI Stunting is a malnutrition can be seen from height that is not in accordance with age. Based on data from the Indonesian nutritional status survey 2022, the rate of stunting in Indonesia reached 21.6%. Lack of intake of main nutrients and additions is the main factor that causes stunting. Food security and the way parents care for children can be a factor that causes stunting indirectly. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the condition of food security, parenting, and consumption of nutrients in children under five who experience stunting in Sukamentri Village, Garut Kota District, Garut Regency. Types of descriptive research conducted in May 2024 with a total sample of 30 stunting toddlers. Sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Data for a picture of food security and parenting is measured using a questionnaire, the intake of nutrients measured through the SQ-FFQ form, and the data collected is processed with nutrition and excel. The results of the study were obtained 24 short toddlers and 6 toddlers were very short. Food security as much as 70.0% already has good food security. The average parenting of mothers under five is 56.7%. The average energy intake of toddlers is 30.0%. The average protein intake of toddlers is more than 63.3%. The average fat intake of toddlers is more than 36.7%. The average carbohydrate intake of toddlers with a weight deficit of 53.3%. The average calcium intake of toddlers is less than 93.3%. Average zinc intake of toddlers as much as 73.3%. The availability of food and the role of mothers towards young children is very important, especially in providing various types of food that is sufficient to meet the nutritional needs of young children and support their growth.
