Abstract
EFFECTIVENESS OF DEVELOPMENTAL CARE IN MAINTAINING STABLE BODY TEMPERATURE AND OXYGENATION IN LBW Rainy1 Dini Mariani 2 LBW is a baby whose birth weight is less than 2500 grams and regardless of gestational age. Babies born with LBW are at risk of experiencing various health problems. One of the many critical factors that occur in LBW babies is the problem of instability in body temperature regulation and oxygenation, which is a major complication in the early birth period. So it is necessary to implement a method that can reduce these obstacles, one of which is through a developmental care strategy. The aim is to determine the effectiveness of developmental care in maintaining stable body temperature and oxygenation in LBW. Based on the results of the assessment carried out on babies 1 and 2, problems were found, namely ineffective breathing patterns related to neurological immaturity and risk of hypothermia related to low birth weight. Intervention by implementing development care. After carrying out developmental care measures for 3 days, there was a change in body temperature to become stable within normal limits. Oxygenation in babies is in an improved condition compared to before, indicated by improved breathing patterns. Nursing actions implementing developmental care can have a good effect on the stability of body temperature and oxygenation of LBW babies.
