Abstract
PROGRAM STUDI KEPERAWATAN CIREBON Karya Tulis Ilmiah, Mei 2026 Pelaksanaan Terapi Self care Orem : Teknik Supportive-educative pada Ny. NL dan Ny. LM dengan Defisit Perawatan Diri di Panti Gramesia Kabupaten Cirebon Haora¹, Dwi Putri Parendarwati², Eyet Hidayat ³ ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Defisit perawatan diri merupakan ketidakmampuan individu dalam memenuhi kebutuhan kebersihan diri seperti mandi, berhias, makan, dan toileting secara mandiri. Kondisi ini sering ditemukan pada pasien dengan gangguan jiwa khususnya skizofrenia akibat menurunnya motivasi dan kemampuan merawat diri. Tujuan : menggambarkan kondisi pasien, pelaksanaan terapi self care menurut Dorothea Orem dengan teknik supportive-educative, respon pasien dan Analisa kesenjangan kedua pasien. Metode : Desain karya tulis ilmiah menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada dua pasien yaitu Ny. NL usia 39 tahun dan Ny. LM usia 49 tahun yang mengalami defisit perawatan diri. Intervensi dilakukan selama 5 hari dengan frekuensi 1 kali sehari selama 10–30 menit. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, pemeriksaan fisik, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil studi kasus menunjukkan bahwa sebelum dilakukan terapi kedua pasien tampak malas mandi, jarang mengganti pakaian, penampilan tidak rapih, rambut berantakan, kuku panjang dan kotor, serta tercium bau badan. Setelah dilakukan terapi self care Orem dengan teknik supportive-educative, kedua pasien menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan dalam melakukan perawatan diri secara mandiri seperti mandi, menggosok gigi, mengganti pakaian, dan mencuci tangan sebelum serta sesudah makan. Kesimpulan: Kedua pasien menunjukan peningkatan kemampuan perawatan diri mulai dari mandi, mengganti pakaian, menyisir rambut, dan menggosok gigi, terapi self care Orem dengan teknik supportive-educative mampu meningkatkan kemampuan perawatan diri pasien secara bertahap melalui dukungan, bimbingan, edukasi, dan motivasi selama terapi, pasien Ny NL perubahan lebih cepat daripada Ny. LM Saran: Diharapkan pasien mampu melaksanakan perawatan diri secara mandiri. NL and Ny. LM with Self-Care Deficit at Gramesia Nursing Home, Cirebon Regency Haora¹, Dwi Putri Parendarwati², Eyet Hidayat³ ABSTRACT Background: Self-care deficit is the inability of an individual to fulfill personal hygiene needs such as bathing, grooming, eating, and toileting independently. This condition is often found in patients with mental disorders, especially schizophrenia due to decreased motivation and ability to care for themselves. Objective: To describe the patient's condition, the implementation of self-care therapy according to Dorothea Orem with supportive-educative techniques, patient responses and gap analysis of both patients. Method: The design of the scientific paper uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in two patients, namely Mrs. NL aged 39 years and Mrs. LM aged 49 years who experienced self-care deficit. The intervention was carried out for 5 days with a frequency of 1 time a day for 10-30 minutes. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation studies. Results and Discussion: The results of the case study showed that before the therapy, both patients appeared lazy to bathe, rarely changed clothes, had an untidy appearance, messy hair, long and dirty nails, and had body odor. After Orem self-care therapy with supportive-educative techniques, both patients showed an increase in their ability to perform self-care independently such as bathing, brushing their teeth, changing clothes, and washing their hands before and after eating. Conclusion: Both patients showed an increase in their ability to perform self-care starting from bathing, changing clothes, combing their hair, and brushing their teeth, Orem self-care therapy with supportive-educative techniques was able to gradually improve the patient's self-care abilities through support, guidance, education, and motivation during therapy, patient Mrs. NL showed faster changes than Mrs. LM. Suggestion: It is expected that patients will be able to carry out self-care independently.
