Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infection in the respiratory tract that causes symptoms of cough, runny nose, accompanied by fever. ARI is highly contagious and can be experienced by anyone, especially children and the elderly. Toddlers are children who have reached the age of 1-5 years. Each year, the number of deaths due to ARI in toddlers reaches 12.4 million in the world, of which two-thirds are infants aged 0-1 years. In 2015, 80.3% of these deaths occurred in developing countries. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of the use of ARI drugs in toddler patients in the outpatient installation of Dr. Soekardjo Hospital in Tasikmalaya City based on patient characteristics and therapy characteristics. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with retrospective data collection.
