Abstract
beginning during pregnancy or within the first two years of life. This research is significant because stunting has serious implications for a child's growth and development, and can have long-term impacts on an individual's quality of life in adulthood. This study aims to describe the intake of energy, protein, and iron in stunted toddlers (aged 6-36 months) in Sukajaya Village, Purbaratu District, Tasikmalaya City. The study employed a descriptive approach with a sample of 24 stunted toddlers registered at the Sukajaya Village integrated health post (posyandu). Data were collected in April 2024 through anthropometric measurements and interviews using a 24-hour food recall instrument. The research findings indicate that the majority of toddlers have short stature (87%), with a small proportion classified as severely short (13%). Energy intake tends to be inadequate (77%), while protein intake is mostly categorized as excessive (60%), followed by adequate (37%), and inadequate (3%). Meanwhile, iron intake is mostly inadequate (77%), with a small portion classified as sufficient (23%). The conclusion of this study is that stunted toddlers in Sukajaya Village generally experience inadequate energy intake, but tend to have excessive protein intake. Iron intake is also typically inadequate.
