Abstract
Street food is food and drinks sold in crowded places. Food safety is food that is free from health hazards or disease-causing factors, and is safe to eat. Adolescent eating habits often pay less attention to the nutrients contained in their food and prefer to consume snack foods. Snack habits appear in adolescents pose an unsafe risk, due to a lack of knowledge related to food safety. The purpose of this study was to determine the overview of knowledge about food safety, eating habits and nutritional intake of snacks in students of junior high school 17 in tasikmalaya city. This study used descriptive research with the Quota Sampling method, data collection was carried out on a sample of 30 respondents. This study shows that the knowledge of food safety of 60% of respondents is good. The most frequently consumed snacks and drinks are glass noodles/instant noodles, fried intestines, and popice/teajus packaged sweet drinks. Energy intake was 93.4% with more category, protein intake was 96.7 with more category, fat intake was 83.3% with more category, carbohydrate intake was 100% with more category and iron intake was 56.7% with less category. Suggestions in this study are that schools can provide knowledge related to food safety and supervise snacks and traders. Students should pay more attention to nutritional content and food safety before consumption.
