Abstract

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as a critical care unit in a hospital, provides life saving medicines that must always be available. Life saving drugs are drugs that are used in certain emergency situations including STEMI, where a severe heart attack occurs resulting in a sudden and unexpected decrease in the patient's clinical condition which can cause death so immediate treatment is required. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of life saving drugs in STEMI patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Dr. Soekardjo City of Tasikmalaya in 2022. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with retrospective data collection. Data were obtained from medical records of 48 patients. The results showed that the characteristics of the most STEMI patients were male, 43 people (90%), the most aged 55-65 years were 19 patients (40%) and the most diagnosed stemmy patients were inferior STEMI, 18 people (38%). The use of life saving drugs in STEMI patients based on the highest group was the antiplatelet group with a total of 90 (37,35%), the most active substance was fondaparinux in 47 patients (19,50%) and the most route of drug administration was parenteral with a total of 132 (54.77%).
