Abstract
Surgery can lead to nosocomial infections. Surgical patients belong to three categories of in-hospital infections. Based on the initial survey conducted at RSUD dr. Soekardjo, Tasikmalaya City, recorded 300 patients for cesarean section (sectio caesarea) in 2022. Prophylactic antibiotics can be used to prevent infection by 1-5%. This study aims to describe the use of prophylactic antibiotics in cesarean section inpatients at the Regional General Hospital dr. Soekardjo City of Tasikmalaya in 2022. This study uses data analysis in the form of descriptive analysis with a retrospective design presented in the form of narrative and percentage tables. The total population in this study were 300 cesarean section patients. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling with a total sample of 160 cesarean section patients. The most prophylactic antibiotic therapy was a single class of third generation Cephalosporins 26% and the most combination therapy was third generation Cephalosporins and Nitroimidazole 56%. The single most active substance antibiotic is Cefotaxime 26% and the most active substance in combination is Cefotaxime Metronidazole 56%. The highest administration time after surgery was 72%, the highest therapeutic dose of 1 gram Cephalosporin was 99% and the most dosage form was injection 100%.
